Celsius Heating Up the Energy Drink Landscape

Updated: Dec 25, 2022

Gone are the days that energy drinks are simply made up of a handful of brands. Of course we still have the Monster, Red Bull, and Rockstar legacy beverages we've all grown up with and continue to hold near and dear to our hearts. In recent years there has been quite the boom in demand in energy drinks, and thus a rise in new players in the market. Amongst this scramble to take over this growing market, it seems that month after month new brands and flavors arise out of nowhere. Though overwhelming, Caffeine Shark is here to help you navigate these caffeinated waters and help steer you in the right direction. Whether you're a gamer look to grind late nights, an athlete looking to stay physically and mentally sharp, a nurse working another twelve hour shift, or just a guy needing his fix, the sharks are here to help.

It's no secret that among these next gen energy drinks that have seemingly popped up in recent years, Celsius in particular has made a big splash. Though the brand's beginnings originated in 2009 and dabbled in foreign markets, it found its real domestic rise in recent years, and with an interesting approach. Unlike the energy drink classics such as Red Bull and Monster, Celsius focused its product as a healthier alternative to historical energy drinks, specifically aiming at the health and fitness community. While others have made similar marketing approaches, it's hard to argue Celsius' success in targeting athletes and health-conscious buyers.

In offering a product with minimal carbs and calories, 0 sugar, and a lighter taste accompanied by a large variety of flavors, the Celsius wave has dramatically taken over and made a true name for itself. With no signs of slowing down, Celsius has received a $550M investment from PepsiCo and recently Celsius CEO John Fieldly has expressed belief that his brand can rival the position of the Red Bull and Monster legacy drinks.

Personally I'm a huge fan of the Celsius brand and consistently found myself walking out of a store eager to try a new flavor. While I'm a big proponent for this brand, I am also just a guy who has an opinion. Whether you're interested in trying this brand for the first time or Celsius is nothing new to you and you're a part of the reason for this Brand's rapid success, it'll be interesting to see how this brand stands against the energy drink Juggernauts in the coming years.
