My first GFUEL was anything short of boring. Ragin' Gummy Fish is a liquid recreation of the candy Swedish Fish. I was drawn to the flavor for both the absurdity and the nostalgia. My nostalgia was partially met by the cherry candy flavor. The drink fell short of truly capturing the candy of my days summer camp, mostly due to an odd aftertaste. My first experience with GFUEL was a mixed bag, a complex mix of candy sweetness, nostalgia, and peculiar flavors.
It's hard to know what to expect from a drink named Ragin' Gummy Fish. A sweet flavor hits you a second after each sip. The sweetness, which tastes like cherry candy, is short-lived. That's where the drink falls short. It fails to truly capture the delicious sweetness of Swedish Fish. Subsequently, the aftertaste isn't very satisfying. The deliciousness is too fleeting for each sip to leave me wanting more.
The can balances two different blues with a red accent color. The color scheme has a nice metallic finish that catches the light. The Faze Jev graphic on the side stands out. I understand the promotion aspect of the graphic but wish they went with a better depiction of Faze Jev. It's a tad over the top. Overall it's a solid looking can, but lacks any truly dynamic features.
GFUEL Ragin' Gummy Fish has 300mg of caffeine. The amount equates to approximately three cups of coffee.
