Starbucks Baya Mango Guava

I really didn't expect to put a Starbucks energy drink near the top of my rankings, but here we are.

Introduction

Here we go with #2/3 on my Baya Energy series. First up was Pineapple Passionfruit, which I THOUGHT would be my favorite. It was decent, coming out to a 6.8 overall. Not bad, but I'm hoping this comes through even stronger.

Taste

9.3

Nope - this is my favorite flavor so far. It blows Pineapple Passionfruit out of the water.

The mango and guava both come in strong, and there's almost no bitter aftertaste! It's just sweet! The drink is supremely refreshing. I'm seriously having trouble putting it down to type up this review.

Appearance

Can is a real eye-catcher. I think just having the Starbucks logo on there along will draw people in that normally wouldn't take a second glance at an energy drink.

Kick

7

I mentioned in the Pineapple Passionfruit review that I couldn't get a firm grasp on the carbonation level. It's a bit easier to pick up here. Definitely medium-high, and it's a perfect combination with the fruity, mango-guava flavor.

160 mg of caffeine. 23g of sugar. Advertises caffeine naturally derived from the coffee plant ingredient.

Conclusion

I really didn't expect to put a Starbucks energy drink near the top of my rankings, but here we are. Mtn Dew Kickstart is a good comparison for the flavor profile - but this drink has a little something extra. I think it's the 10% fruit juice that really adds a burst of flavor that pairs excellently with the carbonation.
