Starbucks Baya Raspberry Lime

Raspberry and lime combination tastes like a seltzer. Solid caffeine content in an otherwise average energy drink.

Intro

Baya Raspberry Lime is reminiscent of a raspberry seltzer with a fruity lime flavor and distasteful aftertaste. It is refreshing overall, but there are simply better energy drinks out there that are not as pungent nor have a bitter aftertaste. It is enjoyable enough, but it will never be my first choice.

Upside

The flavor selection is great. It also has 160mg of caffeine in a 12oz can (13.33mg/floz), which is a great amount of caffeine to get you through the afternoon.

Downside

The aftertaste is bitter, like all other Baya energy drinks. It has 22g of sugar with no artificial sweeteners, so the bitterness of the caffeine itself overpowers the flavor. It is not unbearable by any means, just not optimal for an otherwise fine energy drink.

Upshot

Baya Raspberry Lime is a fine flavor and refreshing when cold, but a bit too bitter for my taste. There is nothing that stands out as significantly better than any other option, so I would not recommend it to everybody. I understand the appeal with a refreshing flavor, lower sugar content, and absence of artificial sweetener, but it will never be my go-to.
