Mtn Dew Game Fuel Charged Cherry Burst
Cherry flavored Mtn Dew is exactly what you would expect. Strong cherry flavor, typical Mtn Dew aftertaste, and fairly weak kick. Not the best, but still loved by all Mtn Dew fanatics.
Mtn Dew Game Fuel Charged Cherry Burst makes me miss AMP Overdrive. The AMP Overdrive discontinuation was extremely disappointing, but this flavor is moderately similar (along with Code Red). While the taste is up there at 7.9/10, the fact that it still tastes like Mountain Dew under the cherry flavor prevents it from ranking any higher. There is nothing inherently wrong about the Mountain Dew flavor, it is just boring to me. The mouthfeel is inferior to most other energy drink brands, and the all to familiar aftertaste keeps it below an 8/10.
A 7.2/10 overall and 7.9/10 taste are very good ratings for a beverage I bashed so hard in the intro. Cherry is a delicious flavor, and everyone who likes regular Mountain Dew will also love this. I would not be surprised to see Mountain Dew lovers rating this a 10/10. This beverage also has a redrinkability factor that will affect people differently. Mountain Dew fanatics also are known for having thousands upon thousands without becoming sick of them. If you are one of those people, then you will probably share a similar opinion of Mtn Dew Game Fuel Charged Cherry Burst. The can is also pretty cool with the red and black color scheme.
Compared to most energy drinks, Mtn Dew Game Fuel Charged Cherry Burst does not give a significant kick. With only 90mg of caffeine per can (5.625mg/floz), it does not really hit hard with only one can. The Mountain Dew flavor is also tiresome to me. Over the years, we all have had our fair share of Mountain Dew. When having a cherry beverage, I would prefer something more exciting than the same old flavor I have had for decades. While it can still be enjoyable, I simply prefer other brands.
If you love Mountain Dew, you will love Mtn Dew Game Fuel Charged Cherry Burst. It has a solid cherry flavor with a typical Mountain Dew aftertaste. The kick is not very strong due to lack of caffeine, but it still has enough to provide a slight energy boost. While I rated this decently at 7.2/10, I would usually prefer a different brand for cherry-flavored energy drinks.
